Sydnee Nickels gave Falls City Tigers Varsity fits, as Nickels bagged four hits in Nebraska City Pioneers's 10-2 victory on Thursday. Nickels tripled in the first, singled in the third, doubled in the fourth, and doubled in the sixth. The Pioneers fired up the offense in the first inning. Emma Smailys hit a solo homer. The Pioneers scored four runs in the fourth inning. Bianca Hoy, Nickels, and Kendyl Schmitz each had RBIs in the frame. Schmitz earned the win for the Pioneers. The righthander went six innings, allowing two runs on four hits and striking out nine. Elyse Poppe was on the rubber for Falls City Tigers Varsity. The pitcher surrendered ten runs on 12 hits over five innings, striking out one. The Pioneers launched three home runs on the day. Emilee Marth went for the long ball in the first and third innings. Smailys put one out in the first inning. The Pioneers scattered 12 hits in the game. Nickels, Marth, and Schmitz each racked up multiple hits for the Pioneers. Nickels led the Pioneers with four hits in four at bats.
