by Bianca Hoy The Pioneer Softball team went undefeated in the Omaha South Tournament last Thursday and Friday, bringing home the championship plaque to Nebraska City. In their first game against Omaha Bryan, Emerson Becker was on the mound and surrendered only one run on one hit over four innings, striking out four batters and walking one. Defensively, the Pioneers didn’t commit a single error. Bianca Hoy, Emma Cowden, Emilee Marth, and Lexi Southard all had multiple hits for the Pioneers. Hoy went 3 for 3 at the plate to lead the Pioneers in hits. The Pioneers defeated Omaha Central 10-3 in the championship game. Rylee Packett, Abby Hodges, Hanna Marth, Hoy, and E. Marth all drove in runs in the game. Becker, started the game and surrendered one run on two hits over two innings, striking out two. Lextyn Harker threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen. The Pioneers committed no errors in the field and stole 5 bases during the game as two players stole more than one. The Pioneers’ next game is at home vs Elkhorn, JV at 5:30 with Varsity at 6:00PM. Followed by the Auburn tournament on Saturday Sept. 3 with their first game against Auburn at 9:00AM. Go Pioneers!!

Last night, the Pioneer softball team defeated the Ralston Rams 10-2 in five innings pushing their record to 5-1 on the season. Emerson Becker picked up the win having 7 strikeouts and allowing 5 hits. Emilee Marth led the Pioneers at the plate going 3/3 with 2 RBIs. Sydnee Nickels added two hits and also picked up 2 RBIs. Lexi Southard and Bianca Hoy both went 2/3 with Southard also hit 2 runs in.
