On Saturday, the Nebraska City High School Marching Band competed in the annual Applejack Parade. The Pioneers marched to a portion of their field show entitled "Reign" with musical influences from Ancient Egypt. The band scored second place out of nine bands with only Blair High School earning more points. The ensemble was led in the parade by junior drum major Gabe Collins and senior drum major Zack Ottemann. Next, the band is preparing to march at the Trailblazers Conference Marching Festival, on Wednesday, September 22.
